Evolution of the 10ID Seal
The seal of the 10th Infantry (AGILA) Division is a symbolic statement for the unit’s heritage, identity, and mission in contemporary form. Its power depends on its simplicity and complexity, as well as its traditional and enduring qualities.
The basic symbols in the seal are the Philippine Eagle, shield in olive green color, numeric number 10, laurel leaves; the word AGILA in capital letters, M16 rifle and the Kris. The dominant and most visible element in the design is the eagle with its wings spread in full span and claws opened.
The Philippine Eagle is the largest and most powerful bird of prey in the world. It represents the qualities aspired in every personnel of the 10th Infantry Division - strong vision, mission-driven, focused, versatile and always prepared.
The spread wings and opened claws represent his superior strength and continuous drive for higher ideals.
The shield with olive green color (traditional color of peace) symbolizes the unit as guardian of peace and protector of the constitution and of the people.
Numeric number 10 is the numerical designation of the Command as 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.
Laurel leaves denotes the achievements, heroism and proud history of the division.
M16 rifle represents the basic weapon of an infantryman.
The Kris represents the famous weapons of our brother Moslem and Lumad.
The cross created by the rifle and the Kris and firmly gripped by the claws of the eagle symbolizes unity and harmony among diverse belief of every personnel in their fight towards common good.
The word “AGILA” is the official Tagalog name of the Philippine Eagle. It is an acronym for the attributes that every 10ID personnel aspires to be: Agility, Good-mannered, Initiative, Leadership and Aggressiveness.
